Breast Radiologist - Summary
As a Breast Radiologist, you will play a central role in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases, including breast cancer, through detailed image analysis and interpretation. The position operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm in a hospital environment, providing essential radiology services for both routine and urgent inpatient cases. The use of PowerScribe 4.0 as the primary electronic medical records (EMR) tool enables efficient workflow and accurate reporting. This is an ongoing opportunity, commencing as soon as credentialing is completed, and offers a rewarding career path for those dedicated to the specialty of breast radiology.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze breast imaging studies, including mammography, ultrasound, and MRI, to assist in the diagnosis and management of breast diseases.
- Deliver timely and accurate reading of inpatient routine and stat cases, ensuring a high standard of patient care and compliance with hospital protocols.
- Meet the daily volume expectation of 50 RVUs per shift within a hospital setting with an annual case volume of approximately 12,000.
- Utilize PowerScribe 4.0 for efficient documentation and reporting of imaging findings.
- Collaborate effectively with referring physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumor boards as needed to discuss complex cases and contribute to treatment planning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advances in breast imaging and radiology best practices.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology with subspecialty certification or fellowship training in Breast Imaging.
- Active and unrestricted state medical license.
- Experience with PowerScribe 4.0 or similar EMR systems preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hospital team environment.
- Credentialing process requires approximately 60 to 90 days for completion.
