Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer all types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care, based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
- Perform pre-anesthetic patient assessments to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures, adjusting anesthesia and supporting vital functions as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure safety and high-quality care.
- Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Unrestricted RN and CRNA licensure to practice in Alabama (or eligibility to obtain).
