Dental Hygienist (RDH) positions play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive the highest standard of preventive dental care. Dental Hygienist (RDH) - Summary
- Provide preventive dental care through hygiene assessments, screenings, and procedures
- Collaborate with dental team members to support high-quality, patient-centered care
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Deliver oral health education to patients and promote effective hygiene practices
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene assessments, including comprehensive reviews of medical and dental histories
- Conduct oral health screenings and periodontal evaluations to identify oral diseases
- Carry out preventive dental procedures such as cleanings, scaling, root planing, and application of fluoride, sealants, and desensitizing agents
- Expose and evaluate dental radiographs in accordance with safety and certification standards
- Assist in early detection and documentation of oral diseases, reporting findings to the dentist
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, including proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition
- Clearly explain dental procedures and post-treatment instructions
- Collaborate with dentists and other dental staff to support comprehensive treatment plans
- Prepare patients and treatment areas for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Document clinical findings, treatments, and educational sessions accurately in patient records
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA
- Follow sterilization and instrument processing protocols
- Maintain active licensure and pursue continuing education as required
- Support efficient clinic operations by maintaining readiness of equipment and supplies
- Promote a respectful, patient-centered clinical environment at all times
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to continuous service improvement

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program (CODA/ADA)
- Active license to practice as a Dental Hygienist (RDH)
- AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
- Certification in Radiography
- Minimum of 1 year of specialized experience after graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- U.S. Citizenship is required
