Endocrinologist (MD/DO)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Endocrinologist (MD/DO) to join a rapidly expanding specialty care team in Tampa, FL, on a full-time basis. The Endocrinologist will focus on providing comprehensive outpatient consultative and longitudinal care to individuals with complex endocrine and metabolic disorders. Practicing within a value-based care environment, this position emphasizes the importance of proactive disease management and the prevention of complications associated with conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases, and other metabolic concerns.
As part of an innovative multidisciplinary team, the Endocrinologist (MD/DO) will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with medical assistants, schedulers, referral specialists, social workers, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and podiatry experts. This collaborative approach ensures comprehensive and coordinated care, particularly for geriatric and complex chronic patient populations. The role is clinic-based and offers the ability to provide both consultative and ongoing longitudinal care, supported by advanced technologies and a robust care coordination infrastructure.
Within this value-based outpatient endocrinology model, the Endocrinologist (MD/DO) will manage a small, focused patient panel, typically seeing 12-16 patients per day. The emphasis is on quality of care, individualized treatment planning, and the use of technology such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps to optimize patient outcomes. In addition to direct patient care, the role involves patient and family education, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and the development of clinical protocols designed to improve health outcomes and prevent complications such as lower-extremity wounds and amputations.
Practicing as an Endocrinologist (MD/DO) in Tampa, FL, offers the advantage of working in a vibrant and diverse community, with access to top-tier resources and a supportive healthcare ecosystem. The position provides excellent long-term career growth, leadership development, and partnership opportunities within an organization committed to advancing the standards of chronic care management.
Candidates should possess an MD or DO degree, be board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, and have a background in Internal Medicine. Prior clinical experience as an endocrinologist is required, and candidates must hold or be eligible for an active medical license and DEA license. While value-based care experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with the latest diabetes technologies and experience working with geriatric or complex chronic populations are considered advantageous.
The compensation package is highly competitive, featuring a base salary of $300,000 or more plus a structured bonus system. The schedule is designed to promote work-life balance, with regular weekday hours, no nights or weekends, and minimal hospital rounding. The organization is committed to supporting the professional and personal well-being of its clinicians, providing a comprehensive benefits package and ample opportunities for continuous education and advancement.
