Fire Watch Technician - Summary
As a Fire Watch Technician, your primary responsibility is to perform regular patrols of apartment communities to ensure that fire safety protocols are followed and all systems are functioning correctly. You will be responsible for monitoring fire alarm systems, checking fire extinguishers, and ensuring that all emergency exits are accessible and clearly marked. The Fire Watch Technician acts as a first responder in the event of a fire or related emergency, assisting with evacuations and coordinating with emergency personnel as needed. This role requires vigilance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct frequent patrols throughout assigned apartment communities to identify and address potential fire hazards.
- Monitor safety systems, including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting, ensuring that they are in proper working order.
- Assist with emergency evacuations, guiding residents to safety and providing support during fire drills or actual fire incidents.
- Document all safety checks, incidents, and any issues identified during patrols, maintaining clear and accurate records for compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety by communicating fire prevention tips to residents and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately to management.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or safety concerns as they arise.
- Collaborate with property management and emergency services to coordinate response plans and support overall community safety efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in a fire watch, security, or safety monitoring role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain attentive and maintain composure in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- A fully functional phone with active data and cellular service is required for communication and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are necessary for patrolling multiple properties as needed.
