GIS Analyst - Summary
- The GIS Analyst is responsible for conducting advanced spatial analysis, managing geospatial databases, and automating GIS workflows using industry-standard tools and programming languages.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, and maintain complex geographic databases and feature sets to support project objectives.
- Perform updates and edits to geospatial data, ensuring all data integrity and exchange standards are consistently met.
- Automate existing GIS workflows and processes using Python scripting, ArcPy, and other automation tools to enhance efficiency and data reliability.
- Coordinate and manage the efforts of external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate completion of GIS projects.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and quality assurance for all GIS data, applications, and related systems.
- Develop and program software applications to automate data capture, conversion, and maintenance procedures as they relate to GIS functions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
- Five to eight years of hands-on experience in spatial analysis, database management, and Python scripting within a GIS environment.
- Expert proficiency in Esri products, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and QGIS.
- Advanced skills in creating and maintaining enterprise geodatabases (ArcSDE), working with SQL, and integrating spatial data from multiple sources.
- Strong experience with Python (including ArcPy/API) and FME for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and workflow automation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate, develop, and program computer software applications tailored to GIS data automation needs.
