As a Leasing Consultant, your primary focus will be on interacting with prospects, showcasing available units, and highlighting the unique features and amenities of our apartment communities. You will respond to inquiries, provide detailed information about leasing options, and assist applicants throughout the entire process. In addition, you will coordinate closely with maintenance and management teams to ensure that units are ready for new residents, and that all resident concerns are addressed promptly and courteously.
Our ideal candidate brings a blend of leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality experience, combined with strong communication and organizational skills. You will need to be well-versed in property management software, such as Yardi or RealPage, and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Leasing Consultant - Summary
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current residents
- Showcase apartment communities through tours and presentations
- Guide applicants through the leasing process from inquiry to move-in
- Utilize property management software to track leads and manage resident information
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and engage prospective residents, conduct property tours, and effectively highlight community amenities and floor plans
- Respond promptly and professionally to phone, email, and online leasing inquiries
- Qualify prospects and explain lease terms, fees, and application requirements clearly
- Assist prospects throughout the application, approval, and move-in process
- Prepare and execute lease paperwork, renewals, and other required documentation accurately and efficiently
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of unit availability, pricing, and community promotions
- Follow up with prospects to maximize conversions and achieve occupancy goals, utilizing property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage)
- Coordinate with maintenance and management to facilitate move-ins and address resident concerns
- Handle resident issues courteously, escalating maintenance or policy matters as needed
- Meet or exceed established leasing and occupancy targets, reporting activities to management
- Participate in community events, marketing initiatives, and online/social media outreach

Qualifications & Requirements
- One or more years of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and a strong customer-service orientation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; reliability and punctuality are essential
- Comfort with basic math and the ability to explain lease terms and fees
- Proficiency in computers and property management/CRM software; Microsoft Office skills required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional off-site showings
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or real estate licensing is a plus
