Leasing Consultant - Summary
As a Leasing Consultant, you will be responsible for greeting prospective residents, conducting informative property tours, and effectively showcasing our apartment amenities and floor plans. You will handle incoming inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms, and guide applicants through the leasing process from initial contact to move-in. This role requires an individual with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a positive resident experience while achieving leasing targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome prospective residents and provide engaging property tours to highlight key features and amenities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all incoming inquiries through various communication channels.
- Qualify potential residents, explain lease agreements, fees, and application requirements, and assist with the application and approval process.
- Prepare and execute lease paperwork, renewals, and move-in documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain current knowledge of unit availability, pricing, incentives, and community promotions to effectively communicate with prospects.
- Follow up with leads to convert prospects, meet occupancy goals, and update information in property management software such as Yardi or RealPage.
- Collaborate with maintenance and management teams to ensure move-in readiness and address resident concerns efficiently.
- Handle resident relations issues with professionalism, escalating maintenance or policy matters when necessary.
- Meet or exceed established weekly and monthly leasing and occupancy targets, and report leasing activity to management.
- Participate in community events, marketing initiatives, online listing enhancements, social media outreach, and open houses to drive community engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least one year of experience in leasing, sales, customer service, or hospitality is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and a strong orientation toward customer service excellence.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Comfortable with basic math and capable of clearly explaining lease terms, fees, and conditions to prospective residents.
- Proficiency with computers and property management or CRM software, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional off-site showings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework or real estate licensing is a plus.
