Medical Scheduler - Summary
- Manage and coordinate patient appointments for a specialized medical center, focusing on optimizing daily schedules and patient flow.
- Serve as a primary resource for patients, families, and visitors seeking information regarding exams, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
- Support the efficient operation of the medical facility by ensuring timely and accurate data entry and records management.
- Work closely with technologists, radiologists, and other medical professionals to coordinate patient care and enhance operational outcomes.
- Deliver exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone, upholding the standards and mission of the healthcare organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of medical resources and minimizing wait times.
- Provide clear, accurate information to patients, their families, and visitors about scheduled procedures and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality, in compliance with all privacy regulations.
- Assist with the day-to-day scheduling operations within the medical center, especially in specialized departments such as the Breast Center.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to all individuals interacting with the medical center, both in person and via telephone.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, for data entry and communication tasks.
- Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues to maintain an efficient workflow.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a patient scheduler in an outpatient medical office environment preferred.
- Familiarity with general medical and/or breast center terminology is a plus.
- Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage daily schedules and patient flow.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with both staff and patients.
