Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations in the optical laboratory, overseeing production processes and ensuring timely fulfillment of eyeglass orders.
- Direct a staff of 110 full-time employees, including five direct reports, to maximize productivity and maintain a high level of member satisfaction.
- Drive achievement of key performance metrics such as Turnaround Time (TAT), first pass yield, quality control, and other essential member satisfaction indicators.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, organizational procedures, and regulatory requirements in the manufacturing environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency, developing and executing action plans to achieve set goals.
- Promote employee engagement by supporting training, professional growth, and succession planning within the optical manufacturing team.
- Foster open communication, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Delegate tasks appropriately while providing guidance and support to team members, encouraging innovative decision-making.
- Translate business plans into tactical actions, managing resources, and adapting to organizational changes and industry trends.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs for staff, including opticians and laboratory personnel, to maintain high standards in eyewear manufacturing.
- Manage asset and inventory strategies to support operational objectives and cost efficiency.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for the optical laboratory.
- Champion the delivery of quality eyewear and outstanding member service, aligning with company values and vision for service excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related field, OR equivalent experience in optical lab environments.
- At least eight (8) years of experience in an optical laboratory or related manufacturing environment, OR a minimum of eleven (11) years of directly relevant experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year managing operational or project budgets.
- At least seven (7) years in a leadership role overseeing direct reports.
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience in optical manufacturing, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), eyewear fabrication, or a closely related field.
- Advanced knowledge in business acumen, written communication, human resources, data analysis, financial planning, compliance, inventory control, safety regulations, medical device standards, optical and optometric manufacturing, and laboratory equipment.
