Patient Registration Representative - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to department policy of using two patient identifiers to ensure patient safety and accuracy.
- Enter patient demographic and insurance information into electronic health record systems, including Epic, OnBase, and related platforms, with a strong emphasis on avoiding HIPAA violations.
- Interview, register, and pre-register patients efficiently and accurately, maintaining a high standard of customer service throughout every interaction.
- Collect and verify all required registration forms and ensure signatures and notes are properly documented and entered into the system.
- Maintain proficiency with relevant software tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), to support registration and administrative processes.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate patient processing.
- Provide clear communication to patients and families regarding registration procedures and required documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, patient admitting, registration, or a related healthcare environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with a focus on patient interaction and satisfaction.
- Skill in accurately collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information.
- High School diploma preferred; additional training or certification in Medical Terminology is advantageous.
