Procurement Buyer

As a Procurement Buyer, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily purchasing operations within a dynamic manufacturing and operations environment. The Procurement Buyer will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely, compliant, and cost-efficient procurement of a wide range of goods and services. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate structured procurement systems effectively.

This full-time Procurement Buyer position is based onsite, providing direct support for both operational and project-driven purchasing activities. As an integral member of the procurement team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across operations, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and service departments to meet organizational purchasing needs and objectives.

The Procurement Buyer will serve as a principal purchasing resource, maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. Your responsibilities will include reviewing purchase requisitions for accuracy, processing and generating purchase orders in compliance with established procedures, and ensuring all procurement activities adhere to company policies and standards. You will also track purchase orders through to completion and follow up on any issues, such as delivery timelines, pricing discrepancies, or service challenges, to guarantee a smooth procurement process.

In this role, you will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This may involve supplier evaluation, negotiation, and the analysis of procurement data to support spend consolidation and increased efficiency. You will be called upon to resolve supplier inquiries, disputes, or payment issues, and to participate in supplier performance reviews and feedback initiatives.

Your expertise in ERP and procure-to-pay systems like Oracle or Ariba will be critical for success in this position, as will your ability to read and interpret contract terms and conditions. You will leverage strong analytical skills to assess purchasing options and ensure cost-effectiveness, working within a structured, policy-driven procurement organization. Attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential attributes for the successful Procurement Buyer.

Preferred candidates will bring experience supporting procurement operations within manufacturing, operations, or project-driven environments. Exposure to supplier negotiations, performance tracking, and cost-reduction initiatives will be highly valued.
