Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Scheduler IV to support large-scale capital construction programs for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). This role is responsible for developing, reviewing, and analyzing project schedules, performing time impact analyses, evaluating change orders and construction claims, and providing cost engineering support throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on complex construction programs, advanced Primavera scheduling expertise, and a strong understanding of project controls, cost analysis, and schedule management.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Project Scheduling & Planning
- Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on established project execution strategies and milestones.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure schedules accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, resource allocation, and critical milestones.
- Support project teams with schedule development and planning activities.
• Schedule Analysis & Monitoring
- Review contractor schedules for contract compliance, accuracy, and overall quality.
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and Earned Value Management (EVM) assessments.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify schedule risks and delays.
- Review contractor weekly and monthly schedule updates and prepare narrative reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Evaluate contractor recovery schedules and assess the effectiveness of proposed corrective actions.
• Claims, Delays & Change Management
- Perform time impact analyses related to project delays, disruptions, and potential claims.
- Evaluate change orders and contract amendments for schedule and budget impacts.
- Participate in change order reviews and negotiations.
- Analyze construction claims and provide schedule-related support and recommendations.
- Identify schedule-related issues and recommend practical solutions to mitigate project impacts.
• Cost Engineering & Financial Analysis
- Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction activities.
- Analyze actual project expenditures against budget performance.
- Develop and maintain cost-loaded schedules to support cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
- Support project teams with cost and schedule integration efforts.
- Assist with forecasting and reporting activities related to project performance.
• Project Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Conduct site visits to verify project progress and support schedule reporting activities.
- Prepare and present schedule analysis reports and recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Communicate schedule performance, risks, and recovery strategies effectively to management teams.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Interpret and apply contracts, policies, and procedures in accordance with BuildLACCD standards and guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Required Experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera Scheduling Software (P6).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience performing time impact analyses.
- Experience with construction claims and change order evaluations.
- Strong understanding of cost engineering principles, scheduling methodologies, and project controls.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple project sites as required.
• Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
