User Research Moderator - Summary
- Facilitate and moderate research sessions for new game titles, capturing and analyzing player feedback.
- Work closely with researchers and operations staff to ensure that playtests and usability studies run seamlessly.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of game development through structured research methodologies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct both in-person and remote usability studies, playtests, and expert reviews to evaluate new game features.
- Observe participant interactions and take detailed session notes, tagging key themes and insights for further analysis.
- Moderate discussions with participants using established research protocols, ensuring a neutral and inclusive facilitation style.
- Assist with the design and setup of tests and surveys, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align research objectives.
- Support topline report development by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data from research sessions.
- Collaborate with researchers and operational staff to guarantee smooth execution of all research activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in user research, playtest moderation, or focus group facilitation.
- Familiarity with gaming communities and empathy for diverse player demographics.
- Proficiency in using survey software such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey.
- Experience with both qualitative and light quantitative research techniques, including descriptive statistics and verbatim coding.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate discussions neutrally and inclusively.
